Greek parliament approved in principle on Friday a bill on migration activating the EU-Turkey deal and allowing the return of refugees to Turkey as of Monday, with 169 votes in favour and 107 against. Twenty four MPs were absent.

SYRIZA, ANEL, the Democratic Coalition and Potami voted in favour of the bill, while New Democracy, Golden Dawn, the Communist Party and the Centrists' Union voted it down.

The articles of the bill were then approved in a separate roll call vote:

    New Democracy approved the articles 18, 23, 24, 33, 45, 47, 66, 73, 75 and voted against articles 5, 7,8,11, 22, 46, 72. The Democratic Coalition stated "present" in the articles 8, 10, 11, 72, 73 and approved the rest of the articles. Potami voted against articles 5, 7, 11, 19, 72 and approved the rest. The Communist Party approved article 67, voted against articles 8, 10, 11, 39, 41, 46, 54, 55, 56, 57, 60, 73 and stated "present" in articles 5, 19, 22, 43, 45, 72.

[02] PM Tsipras urges sports minister 'not to back down one inch' in football deadlock

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras urged Deputy Minister for Sports Stavros Kontonis on Friday to continue efforts to reform Greece's football leagues following increased crowd violence at games. Kontonis canceled this season's Greek Cup indefinitely.

Tsipras met with Kontonis earlier to discuss developments on issue after the latter's meetings with FIFA and UEFA. After the meeting, the prime minister tweeted: "I asked him not back down one inch. Either everyone will accept to clean up, or they will face the consequences."
