[01] No public health 'time bomb' from refugee flows, says health official
The General Secretary of Public Health Yiannis Baskozos dismissed on
Friday talk that Greece is facing a public health "time bomb" as a result
of the large flows of refugees that continue to arrive in the country.
"There's absolutely no issue of a public health time bomb because the
refugees arriving to our country are a healthy population," he said
during the meeting at the National Center for Health Operations, adding
that he has ordered that all medical incidents are recorded so as to
improve epidemiological monitoring.
During the meeting, officials also discussed the coordination of all
bodies involved in administering health services to refugees and migrants.
