  • [01] Áir Force denies report on Israeli fighter jets training against S-300 system

The Hellenic Air Force's general staff on Friday afternoon dismissed, as "completely unfounded", a same-day report by Reuters claiming that Israeli fighter jets had trained against a Russian-made S-300 anti-aircraft system operated by the Greek military on the island of Crete.

"No such training was ever held with any third country," the air force stated in a press release.

It is the (Hellenic) air force's standing and continuous practice not to disclose sensitive operational capabilities and data," it added.

[02] National Bank successfully completes public offer to Greek investors

"A successful completion of a public offer to Greek investors significantly upgrades both the bank's status and the confidence of customers and markets," Leonidas Fragiadakis, chief executive of National Bank announced on Friday.

In a statement, Fragiadakis noted that National Bank was the only systemic bank to offer shares to Greek investors as a part of a capital boost scheme under the same terms offered to foreign institutional investors.

"Our aim was to offer the opportunity to Greek investors and individuals, small and big, to participate not only in the recapitalization but in the day after of the Group. It is a choice, not only fundamental, but symbolic as well as it sealed National Bank's intention to honor and preserve its national character and its traditional shareholders base."
