[01] Frontex to restructure office in Greece to help country deal with
refugee crisis
Frontex's office in Greece will merge with the EU Regional Task Force
as of January 2016, to help the country in managing the unprecedented
migratory pressure at its external borders, its management board
announced on Thursday.
This will reinforce the existing office while improving cooperation
between Frontex Liaison Office (FLO) in Piraeus, Europol and the European
Asylum Support Office (EASO) in the country, the organisation added.
Commenting on the action, EU Commissioner for Migration, Dimitris
Avramopoulos, welcomed the decision, noting that Frontex will now be in
a position to steadily increase its personnel which is helping Greece
cope with the refugee crisis.
