  • [01] FM Kotzias meets Turkish counterpart Sinirlioglou

ANA/MPA---The Greek-Turkish relations, the Cyprus issue, the condition in Syria and Iraq as well as the migration and refugee crisis were the issues discussed on Thursday's meeting between Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and his Turkish counterpart Feridun Sinirlioglou on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, the two ministers made a review of the bilateral relations, discussed ways to improve them, and decided to enhance the cooperation between Greece and Turkey on the refugee and migration crisis.

Moreover, they agreed on exchanging visits of foreign ministries' secretary general, which would pave the way for the visits of foreign ministers as well as the next Supreme Council of Cooperation between Greece - Turkey

[02] Greece through the eyes of diplomats

ANA/MPA---"Greece through the diplomatic lens" is the title of the photo exhibition hosted at Athens Cultural Center "Melina", an initiative of the diplomatic body in Greece.

The Greek antiquities, the islands, the blue of the sea of the sky as well as photos depicting Greece of the crisis are the protagonists of the exhibition.

In this collective exhibition of approximately 70 photos Greece is seen through the eyes, the thoughts and feelings of the foreign diplomats that have served in Greece.

"It was the idea of the Latvian and Iraqi ambassadors," said the manager of the exhibition Anastassia Doukaki to ANA-MPA. "Both are interested in photography and they invited other diplomats as well to participate in the exhibition and this resulted in the cooperation of seven embassies, Belgium, Croatia, Iraq, Lebanon, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Russia," she explained.

Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas, who inaugurated the exhibition, noted "we are getting ready for something, allow me not to reveal it yet, in order for this exhibition to become a permanent event."

The exhibition will run until October 11.
