  • [01] Administrative Reform Min. dismisses scenarios of New Democracy accepting Golden Dawn's support

ANA/MPA---Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of New Democracy accepting Golden Dawn's support.

Commenting on the scenarios that Golden Dawn deputies could affect the result of the third voting for the election of a Greek President, Mitsotakis told private Mega TV: "Don't even think about it. There will be New Democracy deputies who will not vote for a President if Golden Dawn..."

"I refuse to join forces with the Golden Dawn for the election of the President. My vote will not contribute to the legitimization of Golden Dawn through the presidential elections. I will vote ‘present'; and I believe I will not be the only one to do so," he said according to Mega TV website.

He also estimated that in case the first Golden Dawn deputies vote for Stavros Dimas, there will be a total plan and an immediate official response by New Democracy, so that a Greek President is not elected and that its deputies vote "present."

New Democracy's Christos Markogiannakis told the same TV show that "we do not accept the support of a criminal organization."
