ANA-MPA -- The Greek Police (ELAS) on Friday released the photograph and identity of the man arrested two days ago at a garage in Athens' Vyronas district used by the Revolutionary Struggle terrorist group that was under surveillance for several days by the counter-terrorism squad.

The suspect's name is Antonis Staboulos, born to Konstantinos and Rozalda on February 21, 1983 in the Athens area. The 31-year-old had no prior criminal record and appears to be associated with convicted terrorist Nikos Maziotis.

Anyone with information on the suspect can contact the Greek Police Special Crimes Division at 1014 and 10414 under conditions of complete anonymity and confidentiality.

The investigation by the counter-terrorism squad continues.

In press conferences on Thursday, Public Order & Citizen Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias and ELAS Chief, Lieut. General Dimitris Tsaknakis presented details of the raid, including notes found in the man's backpack indicating a major hit was being planned for October 4, the founding anniversary of New Democracy party, the leading partner in the two-party coalition government. Evidence associated with the explosion at the Bank of Greece in Athens in April 2014, for which Maziotis has claimed responsibility, was also found.
