[01] No layoffs in the public sector as of 2015, Administrative Reform
minister says
ANA/MPA---Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Wednesday
pledged that "as of 2015 there will be no layoffs" in the public sector.
"We want a public sector that works with less money, but more
effectively," he said on Ant1 TV referring to his targets and the
government's negotiations with the troika.
He made an extensive reference to taxes, noting that in some cases of
ineffective taxation changes should be made, citing the increase of the
special consumption tax on heating oil as an example.
Mitsotakis also spoke of the organizations that have not fully registered
their personnel and payments, despite the ministry's warnings.
He made clear that the ministry would not give a third extension to the
whole process adding that there would be sanctions for those who fail
to comply.
