[01] SYRIZA's proposal on ERT issue being discussed in ParliamentANA-MPA -- Parliament is discussing a proposal on Thursday by main opposition Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) on the establishment of an examining committee to review the circumstances of the government's shutting down of public broadcaster ERT in June in order to restructure it.The SYRIZA proposal, signed by its leader and 71 of its MPs, is asking for a committee to be set up to examine the liabilities of "people responsible for the violent attempt to abolish ERT" and to "obstruct its operation". The debate will end at 5:00 p.m. On Friday, Parliament will discuss the draft law on the "New Greek Radio, Internet and Television" (NERIT). Lew will stop over in Athens on Sunday, July 21, on his way back from the G-20 Meeting of Finance Ministers and central bank governors in Moscow from July 19-20, the Treasury announced on Wednesday.Lew will meet with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras to discuss Greek economic reforms and Europe's policies for recovery.
