[01] Oil exploration tenders to begin in 2012ANA-MPA/The Greek government will launch tender procedures for oil exploration contracts in the Ionian Sea and southern Crete in 2012, after completion of seismic research in these regions, Environment, Energy and Climate Change Deputy Minister Yiannis Maniatis told a Mediterranean conference on oil and natural gas on Monday.The Greek minister also left the door open for possible synergies between the natural gas pipelines of Turkey-Greece-Italy and TAP (Turkey-Greece-Albania-Italy), while he mentioned the role of Russia in ensuring energy supplies for Europe, in the aftermath of a crisis in North African countries.ana-mpa Maniatis said procedures to set up a public agency, which will take over the management of state rights in exploration and exploitation of oil and natural gas fields, were under way, while he noted that the government was modernizing the country's institutional framework on exploration, based on the Norwegian framework. More details on the subscriber's page of ANA-MPA | Subscription request form [02] ASE opening: Small riseEquity prices were rising at the opening of trade on Monday on the Athens Stock Exchange (ASE), with the basic share price index up 0.07 percent, standing at 1,265.76 points at 11:15 am, and turnover at 11.011 million euros.Individual sector indices were moving upward, with the biggest gains in Insurance, up 2.04 percent; Health, up 1.24 percent and Food and Beverages, up 0.85 percent. The biggest losses were in Oil and Gas, down 2.58 percent; and in Financial Services, down 1.51 percent. The FTSE/ASE 20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks was up 0.02 percent, the FTSE/ASE MID 40 index was up 0.14 percent, and the FTSE/ASE-80 small cap index was down 0.35 percent. Of the stocks traded, 24 were up, 33 were down, and 21 were unchanged.
