[01] FM leadership meets Ombudsman
Alternate Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas and Deputy Foreign
Minister Spyros Kouvelis met with Greek Ombudsman George Kaminis on
Friday focusing on issues concerning better quality services for the
Greek citizens living in Greece and abroad.
After the meeting, Droutsas stated that the governmentâs priority is
the people and their substantive protection as well as quality
services, adding that the services offered by the foreign ministry will
have to be improved further in terms of response time and
transparency.
On his part, Kaminis stressed that this was not a courtesy meeting,
pointing out that it focused on issues that concerned the relations of
the Greek foreign ministry with the Greek citizens.
[02] Ragoussis in Cyprus
Cyprus President Demetris Christofias met in Nicosia on Friday with
visiting Greek Interior Minister Yiannis Ragoussis.
The meeting, which lasted roughly an hour, was also attended Cypriot
Interior Minister Neocles Sylikiotis, ministry general director Lazaros
Savvides and the Greek ambassador to Nicosia Vassilis Papaioannou.
Ragoussis held separate meetings with House of Representatives
President Marios Garoyian, AKEL party general secretary Andros
Kyprianou and DHSY party President Nicos Anastasiades.
