[01] Stocks plunge 3.26% on Mon.
Stocks plunged 3.26 pct at the Athens Stock Exchange on Monday, pushing
the composite index of the market to the 2,500 level at the close. The
index ended at 2,504.43 points, with turnover jumping to 356.8 million
euros, of which 17.7 million euros were block trades.
Most sectors moved lower, with the exception of the Oil/Gas index which
ended 1.29 pct higher. Insurance (5.45 pct), Banks (5.21 pct), Media
(4.89 pct), Raw Materials (4.38 pct) and Commerce (4.14 pct) suffered
the heaviest percentage losses of the day.
The FTSE 20 index fell 3.94 pct, the FTSE 40 index ended 2.17 pct lower
and the FTSE 80 index dropped 4.06 pct. Broadly, decliners led
advancers by 201 to 24 with another 29 issues unchanged.
