[01] Trade deficit down 7.1% in Jan-Feb
Greece's trade deficit shrank by 7.1 pct in the two-month period from
January to February this year, compared with the corresponding period
in 2007, the National Statistics Service said on Thursday.
The statistical service said the trade deficit totalled 5.498 billion
euros in the first two months of 2008, from 5.918 billion euros last
year. The value of import-arrivals fell 5.8 pct, while the value of
export-deliveries eased by 3.0 percent.
The trade deficit fell 4.8 pct in February 2008, compared with the same
month last year, with exports rising 3.6 pct and imports falling 2.2
pct.
