[01] KKE leader in Xanthi
In statements on Sunday, Communist Party of Greece (KKE) General
Secretary Aleka Papariga ruled out any participation in what she said
were attempts to restructure the political scene.
"KKE is not disposed, it neither wants nor is able, to take part in the
restructuring of the political scene that exists as a target. It will
not offer support to any anti-popular government. It will not offer any
help to a political system that is riddled through, has problems and
above all is rotting," she said during a press conference given in
Xanthi, northeastern Greece.
She promised a campaign that would offer a "clean" solution to a
general corrupt political scene.
KKE's leader also expressed concern over Kosovo's secession from
Serbia, saying that this might trigger ethnic conflicts and called on
Greek people to remain vigilant in a "struggle against imperialism,
against [policies] of divide and rule".
