[01] Theatre exhibition in Chania
An exhibition allowing visitors to explore the art of theatre in
relation to other forms of art while following its course in history
from the Classical Greek tragedies up to contemporary theatre has
opened in Chania, Crete and will run until January 26. The exhibition
"Theatre, the Art of Arts", which opened its doors to the public on
Wednesday night, was put together by the Foundation of the Hellenic
World. It projects architecture, set design, lighting, costumes, the
use of masks, makeup and theatre forms with no actors (shadow puppet
theatre, puppet theatre) as independent art forms and an integral part
of theatre. Among the exhibits are material from theatre performances
produced over the past 30 years as well as photographs of performances
produced after WWII, while elementary and high school students will
have the opportunity to attend educational programmes. Entrance is
