  • [01] Karamanlis arrives in London for official UK visit

    Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis officially began his visit to Britain on Monday, where he will address a gathering at the London School of Economics on Monday afternoon and meet with British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Tuesday.

    On Monday, Karamanlis and his wife Natasa attended an event at the renowned Madame Tussauds Wax Museum where the wax figures of the three late Greek political leaders and statesmen were unveiled, namely, Eleftherios Venizelos, Constantine Karamanlis and Andreas Papandreou.

    The prime minister is accompanied on his London visit by Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, Finance and Economy Minister George Alogoskoufis, Tourism Development Minister Fani Palli-Petralia and top other government officials. Main opposition PASOK was represented at the Madame Tussauds event by former minister Telemahos Hytiris.
