Korean president begins official visit to Greece on SundayRepublic of Korea President Roh Moo-hyun, accompanied by his wife, will pay an official visit to Greece from Sept. 3-5 at the invitation of Republic President Karolos Papoulias. In light of the visit, the Federation of Greek Industries (SEB) is organizing a Greek-Korean Business Forum on Monday at a central Athens hotel in cooperation with the Korean International Trade Center and the Federation of Korean Industries. The South Korean president will be accompanied by more than 100 board chairmen and chief executives of large enterprises in the fields of electronics, telecommunications, energy, auto industry, shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, construction and building materials, air transport, textiles, banks, logistics and other business groups.The South Korean president will also address the forum. Greece, the 2005 European champion, beat the USA 101-95 in a semi-final game on Friday. In the other semi-final game the same day, Spain beat Argentina 75-74.(ANA-MPA photo of action in the semi-final game between Greece and the USA on Friday) [03] Deputy DM to visit Poland from Sept. 3-5Deputy Defence Minister Vassilis Michaloliakos will pay a three-day visit to Poland from September 3-5 to attend the inauguration of the 14th International Defence Industry Exhibition which will take place in Kielce, the defence ministry announced on Saturday.Michaloliakos is scheduled to meet his Polish counterpart Marek Zajakala for talks aimed at promoting closer military cooperation between Greece and Poland. On the next day, she will be participating in an event concerning the establishment of a Democracy faculty at the University of New York titled "Hellenic Parliament Global Distinguished Professorship."During the event, she will be attending a speech by professor Paul Cartledge on the reconsideration of Democracy and modern changes in the ancient Greek issue. The Parliament president will also be meeting the Archbishop of America Demetrios and members of the Greek American community. Lastly, she will be giving a press conference at the Greek Press and Communication Office in Manhattan.
