[01] Bakoyannis: Turkey's behaviour inappropriateVIENNA (ANA-MPA - D. Dimitrakoudis) Turkey's behaviour in its relations with Greece was inappropriate for a country trying to become a member of the European Union, Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis said on Sunday in Vienna.Bakoyannis was in Austria to attend a two-day informal meeting of EU foreign ministers focusing on the future of Europe and the fate of the European Constitution. The Greek minister stressed that she had briefed all her European counterparts on the latest developments in relations between Greece and Turkey and about the neighbouring country's behaviour, as well as the tension that has arisen. [02] Papandreou to visit Arcadia on SundayMain opposition PASOK leader George Papandreou is to visit the prefecture of Arcadia on Sunday, attending an event in Tripoli in the evening and visiting Nestani in the Municipality of Mantinia on Monday for talks with local residents.Meanwhile, a series of regional conferences organised by PASOK as part of its political programme for the local government elections end this weekend and will be followed by the party's Nationwide Conference on Local Government at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Athens next Friday and Saturday. The regional conferences taking place on Sunday include those of Attica, Thessaly and the Peloponnese. The last is taking place in Tripoli and will be brought to a close by Papandreou at 18:30, before he addresses an open meeting at the Tripoli Community Centre Park. According to a PASOK announcement, the party wants the Nationwide Conference on Local Government to provide a broader forum for dialogue and consultation and will therefore be attended by members of PASOK's National Council, local government candidates, officials from local party branches, members of the party's sectors, the Committee for Inspiration and Dialogue for Youth and the five-member coordinating organs for Attica, the party's think-tank Institute for Strategic and Development Studies (ISTAME), chambers of commerce, local government staff and trade unionists from the education and social policy sectors and other organisations. It will open and end with speeches made by Papandreou. [03] Ruling ND pulls ahead of PASOK in pollThe ruling New Democracy (ND) party increased its lead over main opposition PASOK to 1.7 percent according to an opinion poll conducted by Kappa Research and published in the Sunday edition of the newspaper "To Vima".In the poll conducted over the phone, 34.8 percent said they would vote for the governing party compared with 33.1 percent for PASOK, while 11.2 percent said they were undecided. Support for the smaller parties was 6.9 per cent for the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), 3.3 percent for the Coalition of the Left, Movements and Ecology and 4.8 per cent for the Popular Orthodox Rally (LAOS). Analysts said that this once again widened the gap between the two main parties, which had been reduced to 0.5 per cent in March from 2.4 percent in May last year. The ruling party also forged 28 percentage points ahead of PASOK as the party most expected to win the elections, with 57.8 per cent of voters expecting an ND victory compared with 29.9 percent for PASOK, and Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis did better than PASOK leader George Papandreou in the public's estimation of who was most suitable for prime minister, with 41.8 percent backing Karamanlis and 33.1 percent backing Papandreou.
