[02] Mass exodus for Christmas holiday

The mass exodus of excursionists for the three-day Christmas holiday period began on Friday.

Traffic police have taken strict measures on the national road network to secure the smoothness of traffic, while the Emergency Medical Services (EKAB) will hand out at the tolls of the national highways 200,000 information leaflets with instructions for the prevention of car accidents.

No problems have so far been reported at the country's ports, while flights are at full capacity.

Commercial shops closed at 9 p.m. on Friday, while they will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Christmas Eve.

Traffic at the entry and exits of the two national highways in Attica was heavy on Friday and Saturday.
