[01] Uninhabited building collapses in Piraeus
A section of an old, uninhabited building at the corner of Alipedou and
Omiridou Skylitsis streets in Piraeus collapsed on Wednesday morning,
causing a disruption in the ISAP train line from Piraeus to the Faliron
station, as debris fell onto the train tracks.
Police sniffer dogs were brought in to locate persons possibly trapped
in the collapsed building, but there were no such indications up to
now.
Fire Brigade vehicles and personnel were on the spot to divert drivers
and pedestrians away from the site as a precautionary step in the event
that the rest of the building collapses.
