[03] Athens Bourse Close: Stocks nose down in slim trade

The Athens bourse finished lower on Tuesday in traditionally light trade before the Christmas holiday, traders said.

The general share index shed 0.09 percent to end at 2,203.56 points. Turnover was 125.7 million euros.

The FTSE/ASE-20 index for blue chip and heavily traded stocks ended 0.08 per cent up; the FTSE/ASE-40 for medium capitalisation paper 0.38 per cent lower; and the FTSE/ASE-80 for small cap equities finished with losses of 0.90 percent.

Of stocks traded, declines led advances at 213 to 79 with 62 issues remaining unchanged.
