Olympiakos Piraeus fans celebrated their fifth consecutive championship on Sunday at the end of the clubs 1-0 home field victory over last-placed Athinaikos Athens, one week before the end of the 2000-01 season and a week after losing in the Greek Cup final.

The game was Olympiakos last at home Athens Olympic Stadium -- for this season, as the club travels to Thessaloniki to face Aris next week. Olympiakos leads the Greek national division standings with 77 points.

Meanwhile, Panathinaikos Athens on Sunday guaranteed its presence in the playoffs for the lucrative Champions League next season by trouncing Panahaiki Patra 4-0 at home. The win keeps the Athens club six points (64) ahead of its cross-town rival AEK Athens, with only one game remaining.

Third-place AEK edged PAOK Thessaloniki 3-2 on Saturday at home, the same pitch where PAOK just seven days earlier won its first Cup in 27 years by downing Olympiakos 4-2.

    In other action:

    Aris-Panionios Athens, 3-2

    Ethnikos Asteras Athens-Iraklis Thessaloniki, 2-0

    OFI Crete-PAS Ioannina, 1-1

    Paniliakos Pyrgos-Kalamata, 3-1

Ionikos Piraeus and Skoda Xanthi face off on Monday.
