Zarros) Athens News Agency Bulletin, August 21, 1993 ============================================ Athens, 21/8/1993 (ANA): Greece has offered to accept 500 sick and wounded evacuated from Bosnia, the foreign ministry said in a statement yesterday. It said the ministry had informed the UN High Commissioner for Refugees that Greece would accept 500 wounded for treatment at local hospitals. The logistical details would be worked out later, the statement said. A UNHCR announcement earlier this week said that more than 17 countries had made 1,250 firm offers to evacuate sick and wounded Bosnians but these figures are dwarfed by the refugee tide from the Balkans conflict area. The 16-month Bosnia crisis, stemming from the break-up of the Yugoslav federation, has killed tens of thousands and created two million refugees in Europe's worst humanitarian crisis since World War II.
