[01] Akdag send the message to the Greek Cypriot side and to foreign companies that Turkey is determined to protect the "Turkish Cypriot rights' in the EM"

Turkish daily Hurriyet newspaper (16.11.17) under the title: " Warning on the issue of the natural gas from Lefkosia", reports that Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister responsible for Cyprus Affairs, Recep Akdag who carried out an illegal visit to the occupied area of Cyprus in order to "attend" the "celebrations for the 34th anniversary of the unilateral declaration of independence (UDI)", in statements yesterday during the "parade" which took place in the occupied part of Lefkosia, warned both the Greek Cypriot side and the foreign companies on the unilateral oil exploration activities in the Eastern Mediterranean. "We want to recall that the Greek Cypriots and the international community are mistaken on the issue of the natural gas. There are two communities in Cyprus. Turkey is determined to protect the TRNC's legitimate rights and interest until the end", Akdag argued.

Also, according to Turkish daily Vatan (16.11.17) referring to the Cyprus negotiation process, Akdag alleged that the negotiation process launched in 2008 has come to an end in Grans Montana due to the intransigent attitude of the Greek and Greek Cypriot duo. "This situation has shown once again that the Greek Cypriot administration does not have the will to share power with the Turkish Cypriots. The Greek Cypriot side which has the support of the EU should stop behaving like a spoiled child", Akdag claimed.

Akdag further claimed that "motherland Turkey will continue strengthening its unshrinking ties with the TRNC".

Stating that Turkey is a guarantor country in the island under international agreements, Akdag called the Greek Cypriot side to comprehend this. "Nobody should expect cutting our ties with the TRNC. Everybody and especially the Greek Cypriot side should abandon false dreams and illusions. We will not allow to the Greek Cypriots the unilateral possession of the island. We will continue protecting Turkey's and the Turkish Cypriots' legitimate rights and interests in the Eastern Mediterranean", Akdag further claimed.

Alleging that the "continuous development and retrieving a viable structure in the TRNC" is amongst Turkey's priorities, Akdag stated that Turkey will do its utmost in order for the Turkish Cypriots to live in peace and prosperity. He further alleged that the per capital income of the Turkish Cypriots has reached to 13-14 thousand dollars and claimed that with the implementation of the "economic cooperation and development programs" they could achieve for this to climb up to 25 thousand dollars.

Referring to the water transferred from Turkey to the "TRNC", Akdag stated that Turkey will continue its works for the transferring of electricity from Turkey to the "TRNC" with underwater cables, while at the same time, as he claimed, the Turkish Cypriots will be benefited very soon from "health services and new hospitals to be built".'

[02] Akdag carried out contacts in the occupied area of Cyprus

Turkish Cypriot daily Halkin Sesi newspaper (16.11.17) reports that Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdag and the Turkish Presidential Secretary General Fahri Kas?rga, who were illegally in the occupied area of the Republic of Cyprus for the celebrations for the 34th anniversary from the Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) of Turkey's subordinate administration in the occupied area of Cyprus, had separate meetings yesterday with the Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci, the self-styled assembly speaker Sibel Siber and the self-styled prime minister Huseyin Ozgurgun.

During the meeting with Akinci, Akdag claimed that within two years serious investments will be implemented in the "TRNC", adding that road projects will be implemented rapidly as well as the projects for electricity and irrigation that they have been already working on them. He further said that they will continue to work in cooperation to take the "TRNC" forward in all sectors.

Noting that there is a great demand in the health sector from the "TRNC citizens", Akdag stressed that it is not enough to make only hospitals but they should also prepare the infrastructure and to rehabilitate the system. He alleged that the big transformation which was implemented in the health sector in Turkey, a similar one will be implemented also in the "TRNC".

Claiming that there are persons with bad intentions, who do not understand the "rights of the Turkish Cypriot people here" (in the occupied area of Cyprus), Akdag argued that "north Cyprus is a country with high potentials and Turkey, as best as it can, will support the TRNC".

Akinci, for his part, said that they follow with great praise the transformation that took place in the health sector in Turkey and added that they will also want to create a similar health system in the "TRNC".

Siber, in the meeting with Akdag and Kasirga, expressed her satisfaction to have Turkey's representatives with them on this "special occasion". She said: "Our sole aim is to raise the quality of living of the Turkish Cypriot people and we will continue to learn from your experiences".

In his meeting with Ozgurgun, Akdag claimed that the "TRNC" has reached the point it is now due to the Turkish Cypriot people's determination, and self-reliance as well as Turkey's support despite the reportedly injustices and embargoes imposed to them. He stressed that their common aim is to develop more the "TRNC" in every sector.

Alleging that they don't attach a lot of importance to the Greek Cypriot side's efforts which lead to the non-solution because of their "cheatings", Akdag argued that "the significance is the happiness of the Turkish Cypriot people". He further claimed: "In the course of time, the political diplomatic side of this work (Cyprus problem) will be solved. It is destined to be solved". He added that how much the Greek Cypriot side and the Greek side are opposing this, it will be ended. For this reason, Akdag said that they will focus on their own affairs, they will continue to work, produce and to progress.

Ozgurgun, for his part, claimed that the efforts to reach a political settlement in the Cyprus problem have failed and alleged that "the Turkish Cypriot people have established their own state with its democracy, institutions and economy and it is as strong as the Greek Cypriot state". He concluded by claiming: "What we need to do from now on is to tell the Greek Cypriot side that the negotiations can no longer continue on this basis".

[03] Messages from Turkish politicians for the anniversary of the "establishment" of the breakaway regime

The Turkish press publishes today (16.11.17) statements from various Turkish politicians for the occasion of the "TRNC's establishment".

Ankara Anatolia news agency reports that the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu extended greetings in a message posted on Twitter.

"I congratulate the 34th anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which is the most valuable achievement of the Turkish Cypriot people's legitimate struggle. Motherland Turkey will always continue to support the Turkish Cypriots," he claimed.

Kibris Postasi writes that Mehmet Mus, the chairman of the Parliamentary group of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) stated that "Turkey will always be next to the TRNC and its people no matter the circumstances".

The chairman of the Republican Peopls' Party (CTP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu argues that they remember and honor the "TRNC founder" Rauf Denktas on this occasion.

Illegal Bayrak broadcast that the Deputy Prime Minister Hakan Cavusoglu, who participated in a reception for the "celebrations" held in Ankara, stated that the Cyprus talks are in a turning point and added that Turkey gives priority to the developments of the "TRNC" under stable conditions. [04] Siber thanked Turkey for its support

Turkish Cypriot daily Gunes newspaper (16.11.17) reports that the "speaker" of the so-called assembly Sibel Siber hosted a dinner at the Merit Hotel in the occupied part of Lefkosia for the foreign officials who attended the celebrations for the establishment of the breakaway regime.

Speaking during the dinner, Siber thanked Turley for always being on the side of the "TRNC" and supports all the projects. Referring to the Cyprus problem she claimed that it is unsolved because of the Greek Cypriots' lack of will. "From now on we will continue our way with self-confidence. Our expectations regarding the future are not tied with the solution of the Cyprus problem", she alleged.

[05] Atun: "Hydrocarbon exploration drillings to be launched by 2018"

According to illegal Bayrak television (16.11.17) so-called minister of economy and energy Sunat Atun has alleged that an "excellent source rock has been discovered in hydrocarbon explorations carried out off the coast of the TRNC and within Turkey's continental shelf since 2012", claiming that the "discovery of the source rock was an important indicator of the presence of valuable gas reserves"

In exclusive statements to illegal BRT, Atun alleged that that drilling works in the area are expected to be launched by 2018.

He further claimed that the gas to be discovered would be piped to the European market via the Ceyhan pipeline.

Also, touching upon the "project to bring electricity to the TRNC from Turkey via a suspended underwater cable", Atun argued that the planning phase for the project iss almost complete.

Stressing the need for the "system to be implemented the soonest possible", Atun claimed that once it will be implemented, the energy costs in the "country" will be reduced. .

On the economy, Atun further alleged that important steps had been taken during his "government's term in office" regarding the developments of the "private sector and infrastructural investments".

He also claimed that "the balance budget received was important proof of the transformation that has taken place".

Atun also alleged that the "TRNC had accomplished much in terms of the economy in the 34 years of its existence".

[06] Erdogan due to Qatar; Turkey and Qatar signed agreements to boost bilateral ties

Ankara Anatolia news agency (15.11.17) reported that Turkey and Qatar signed several cooperation agreements during President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to capital Doha on Wednesday.

Erdogan arrived in Qatar late Tuesday as part of his tour to Gulf states that began on Monday with a visit to Kuwait.

He met with Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani before attending a signing ceremony of the agreement at the 3rd High Strategic Committee meeting.

The agreements included a memorandum of understanding on central banking, tourism and judicial education; a declaration of intention in the meteorological field; cooperation agreements on "friendly harbors" and "criminal subjects" as well as media, technology and humanitarian assistance issues.

Turkey backs Qatar in the Gulf crisis that was triggered in June when Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the U.A.E. and Bahrain cut diplomatic and trade ties with Qatar.

The four states accuse Qatar of supporting terrorist groups -- the allegations Doha denies, describing the embargo as a breach of its national sovereignty.

While in Qatar, Erdogan discussed economic ties between the two countries as well as regional matters with particular emphasis on the necessity for cooperation among regional countries for stability

Also, during his tete-a-tete meeting with the Qatari Emir, Erdogan and al-Thani discussed Syria, the Iraq crisis, the diplomatic rift between Qatar and other Gulf countries and bilateral economic ties between Turkey and Qatar.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of cooperation and solidarity among regional countries with a view to maintaining stability. Erdogan and al-Thani exchanged views on regional and global matters in their meetings. They particularly delved into the Syrian and Iraqi crises and the diplomatic crisis between Qatar and four Gulf countries led by Saudi Arabia, which broke out in early June and remains unresolved.

Erdogan highlighted the necessity to sustain stability in the region and said that Turkey will continue its constructive intermediary role to institute stability, cooperation and solidarity among the regional countries.

President Erdogan underscored that the $710 million bilateral trade volume recorded in 2016 is far from reflecting the potential and expressed common targets to increase the current volume.

He further noted that initiatives would be taken in defense, energy, transportation, food safety and health to boost mutual trade operations and said state officials will continue to support mutual investments.

In the aftermath of the blockade, Turkish exports to Qatar hit $165 million between June and September, a remarkable 84% increase compared to the same period last year. According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), Turkey sent $65 million in exports to Qatar in August alone, 75% more than the same month the previous year.

According to the Ministry of Economy, Qatari investments in Turkey hit $1.5 billion this past August.
