[01] Eroglu returns with hopes from Saudi Arabia

Eroglu noted that during his three-day visit, he met with Ihsaoglu, the chairman of the Islamic Development Bank, Ahmed Muhammed Ali, the chairman of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Salih Kamil and many businessmen. He said that during his meeting with Kamil, they discussed in detail the marketing of the "TRNC" products. Noting that this was the first visit of a "TRNC president", as he described himself, to OIC headquarters in Jeddah, Eroglu said he also had the opportunity to visit Mekka and fulfill his religious obligations.

"I am returning satisfied from my contacts in Jeddah. The interest they showed was sincere. They have put forward their views thinking of really helping the TRNC", he said.

Referring to the Cyprus problem and the statements made by the Greek Prime Minister during his contacts in the government-controlled area of Cyprus, Eroglu argued that he did not find strange the statement by Loukas Papademos that Greece will not accept an invitation by the UN Secretary-General for a five-party conference, because the Greeks have allegedly been rejecting all the agreement texts that had been produced until today. Eroglu claimed that the Turkish side wants an agreement in Cyprus, but not any kind of agreement.

"We will not wait for the Greek Cypriots at the negotiating table for another 40 years", he argued and alleged that the Greek Cypriots and the Greeks are using tricks and make statements in order to prevent the UN Secretary-General from inviting an international conference on the Cyprus problem. Eroglu said that they expect the UN Secretary-General to make his evaluation not according to the rejection of an invitation by the Greek Cypriot side, but according to the allegedly sincere behavior of the Turkish side which "wants an agreement in Cyprus".

[02] Serdar Denktas asks for the interruption of the Cyprus negotiations

Denktas claimed that for half a century the Turkish Cypriots continue their struggle to exist living with the Cyprus problem and alleged: "It is enough. It is very obvious that because they have been spoiled by the entire world, the Greek Cypriots do not want to share their power with the Turkish Cypriots. And we say: 'You continue to live in your own side in the way by which the EU spoils you. We have established our own home, a state by using our rights deriving from the fact that we are one of the two founding peoples of the occupied state. We will continue to live in this house in cooperation with the house of our mother. It is enough!"

During his visit to Adiyaman, Denktas met also with the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister, Bekir Bozdag and the Minister of Defense, Mehmet Yilmaz as well as with MPs from Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Nationalist Action Party (MHP) in the area.

[03] The provocation of the breakaway regime in Pyla is criticized

Meanwhile, according to Afrika (10.04.12) referring to the same issue, Sener Elcil, general secretary of the Primary School Teachers' Trade Union (KTOS), described the incident as provocation and added that the Turkish Cypriots are aware of the fact that they are being dragged into a new adventure with such provocations and distortions of the facts, because "those who created the [Cyprus] problem cannot solve it".

Elcil criticized also the police of the Republic of Cyprus for using violence against young protesters in the buffer zone near Ledra Street area and referred to the visit of the Turkish Cypriot leader to Saudi Arabia. Elcil said the solution of the Cyprus problem is in Lefkosia and not in the deserts of Saudi Arabia. He added: "However, because your root is in Ankara and you are a supporter of the division [of Cyprus] bound by an oath, you prefer to serve Ankara rather than the Turkish Cypriots. We are aware of the fact that due to instructions you have taken, you are dragging the community into a new adventure in the process leading towards 1 July by searching for oil in the north, building oil storage installations, causing suffering to your own people at the border gates, making provocations by using as pretext the arrest in Pyla and distorting the events. Because we know that those who have created the problem cannot solve the problem".

[04] The occupation regime changed the "regulations" regarding the crossings from occupied Ayios Dometios barricade

According to the paper, everyone who crosses over will be obliged to appear personally to the "police" of the regime before crossing to the free area. That is, every passenger from now on will have to get out of the vehicle to present himself personally in order to be given the sealed "document" needed to pass. Yeni Duzen writes that this development will lead to long queues and adds that a lot of time will be needed for the persons who want to cross over to the free areas of the Republic. Yeni Duzen also writes that the situation is expected to get worse during the weekends and the holidays.

[05] The pharmaceutics faculty of the illegal Near East University became member of the Federation International Pharmaceutique

According to the paper, FIR is a federation that gathers many pharmaceutics organisations, pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutics faculties from all over the world.

The paper publishes the web site of FIR (http://aim.fip.org/) in which YDU's membership is listed.

[06] Turkey and China signed two nuclear cooperation agreements

The agreements were signed under the auspices of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao in Beijing after their tete-a-tete meeting and meeting between respective delegations at the Chinese National Assembly.

The agreement and the letter of intent were signed by Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz on behalf of Turkey.

Turkey and China signed also on Monday a letter of intent to mutually establish cultural centers and another letter of intent to mutually encourage investments and preservation of the investments.

Turkey's state-run TRT TV channel and Chinese CCTV signed a cooperation agreement in Beijing on Monday.

During the ceremony held at the Chinese National Assembly, Chinese National Publication Group and Turkey's Turkuaz Magazine Group signed a cooperation agreement.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag, Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Binali Yildirim, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan, Deputy Chairman of the Justice and Development (AK) Party Omer Celik, AK Party's Deputy Group Chairman Mahir Unal, an AK Party deputy from Ankara Yalcin Akdogan and Director General of Turkish Airlines (THY) Temel Kotil also attended the ceremony.

[07] Turkey warns Syria to end clashes in border region; Turkey summoned the Syrian ambassador

The Undersecretary of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Feridun Sinirlioglu, summoned on Monday the Syrian acting ambassador and asked the clashes at the border region to end.

Diplomatic sources said that Sinirlioglu summoned the Syrian acting ambassador and made the necessary warnings to end the clashes at the border region.

The clashes broke out at the Turkish-Syrian border and the number of people, who were wounded during the clashes between Syrian security forces and the opponents, increased to 21.
