[01] Mehmet Ali Talat: No international actor within the world can deny the realities in Cyprus any more

Illegal Bayrak television (06.02.06) broadcast the following:

President Mehmet Ali Talat has stressed that no international actor within the world can deny the realities in Cyprus any more.

Mr Talat added that the international community knows very well that the Turkish Cypriot side wants a solution to the Cyprus problem and the Greek Cypriot side is against it.

Speaking during a meeting today with officials of the Cyprus Turkish Fighters Society, President Mehmet Ali Talat called on everyone not to have a doubt on the maintenance of the Turkish Cypriot peoples rights in any possible agreement on the Cyprus issue.

Referring to the great resistance put up by the Turkish Cypriot people in the past, the President expressed his distress that a permanent and honorable peace can not be achieved yet in Cyprus to put an end to this long-standing struggle.

Our struggle will continue till a solution, based on basic rights of the Turkish Cypriot people, is found to the Cyprus problem, he stressed.

As for the Turkish Cypriot peoples strive within the international arena, Mr Talat criticized previous leadership for its wrong policy, saying that both he and the government are trying to pursue a new policy, proving the Turkish Cypriot sides rightfulness.

The President underlined the fact that the Greek Cypriot administrations European Union membership before a settlement to the Cyprus problem constitutes the biggest hurdle in front of the Turkish Cypriot people.

Stating that the new policy of the Turkish Cypriot side begins to affect the international law, Mr Talat said he will continue to prove the Greek Cypriot sides wrong stance as regards the Cyprus issue within the international community.

[02] The self-styled Minister of Education returned from Kyrgyzistan

Illegal Bayrak television (06.02.06) broadcast the following:

The Minister of National Education and Culture Canan Oztoprak stressed that the fruits of her contacts in Kyrgyzistan will be picked up in the coming days.

Ms Oztoprak returned to the Republic last night at the end of her contacts in Bishkek as guest of the Kyrgyz Minister of Culture Sultan Rayev.

The Minister of National Education and Culture Canan Oztoprak held a press conference today to provide details of her visit to Bishkek, which she called a positive step towards improving the relations between the two countries.

Describing her meeting with the Kyrgyz Minister of Culture Sultan Rayev as very useful, the Minister said that they exchanged views on ways to increase cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture.

Explaining that she also met with the Kyrgyz Minister of Sports, who earlier paid a visit to the Republic, Ms Oztoprak said ways to create more opportunities for sporting events between the two countries had been discussed during the meeting.

During the visit, the Minister held various contacts with high ranking Kyrgyz officials and an agreement was signed between the two countries on culture.

A cooperation protocol was also signed between the friendship groups from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Kyrgyz Parliaments.

(Tr. Note: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is a regime set up by the Turkish Republic in the territories of the Republic of Cyprus occupied by 40,000 Turkish troops).

[03] Francis Wurtz: We will establish a relation with the Turkish Cypriots within the framework of the rules of the international law

Turkish Cypriot daily KIBRIS newspaper (07.02.06) reports that Mr Francis Wurtz, member of the Contact Group between the European Parliament (EP) and the Turkish Cypriots and chairman of the United Left Group of the EP, has said that the contact group will establish a relation with the Turkish Cypriots within the framework of the rules of the international law.

Mr Wurtz noted that they will visit Cyprus in March and that at a meeting of the Group they will determine a strategy and they will decide from where they will come to the Island and how the meetings with the Turkish Cypriots will be contacted.

He, inter alia, said: We will contact the works of the Contact Group having the following thoughts: First, to bring the two communities closer to each other. And second, we will be within a legal framework which will be taking into consideration the existence of the Republic of Cyprus, which is a member of the EU within the framework of the rules of the international law. We do not encourage the division. We support the reunification. I think that the occupation in Cyprus could not be regarded as unimportant. This is a matter of principles for me. We must refrain from encouraging the occupation.

    [B] COMMENTARIES, EDITORIALS AND ANALYSIS

[08] Columnist in Turkish Cypriot paper on Turkey´s new Action Plan

Under the title Everyone on his own way, Turkish Cypriot AFRIKA newspaper (06.02.06) publishes the following commentary by Mehmet Levent:

After America and Britain supported openly Turkey´s `New´ action plan on Cyprus, now Germany found the proposals worth examining!

The German Foreign Minister says: `We shall examine Turkey´s proposals very carefully´!

As it is known, the essence of Turkey´s New action plan is the lifting of the isolations applied on North Cyprus!

For Turkey, the issue of its binding obligation towards the EU to open its ports and airports, is directly related to the Cyprus problem although there is no relations whatsoever!

What does ` the new action plan´ say?

`You lift the isolations and we open the ports´(!) What is the difference between this demand and a kidnapper´s asking for ransom?

In spite of these both America and Britain come out and praise this act of piracy.

And now Germany joined the line! It says that it will examine the proposals very carefully! All those who are interested in the Cyprus problem, even not closely, know that the proposals contain nothing new. They have no legal ground at all.

This being the situation, neither America nor England or the UN and not even a single European country spoke out about this.

Absolutely no one stood against Turkey and said: `Look sir, the proposal you put forth as new contains absolutely nothing fresh. Besides, the issue of opening your ports to Cyprus is a definite obligation you undertook towards the EU. Nothing gives you the right to relate this obligation of yours to any condition. The opening of the ports and airports and the lifting of the isolations are completely different things´. No sooner were these proposals announced, than America and Britain, who are the scenarists of these loathsome games against Cyprus and the Cypriots´, came up and started the applaud them!

In this manner, the way was shown to the other actors of the play.

According to the scenario, with these new proposals Turkey would go `eleven step´ ahead and would open a new road to an agreement!

And the Greek Cypriot side, whose response would be with a definite rejectionist approach, would once more be accused of intransigence!

Thus, that cursed wall dividing the island would be further raised with newly produced bricks and one more significant step would be added to the division between Cyprus and the US and the EU!

And Abdullah Gul´s words that `If the plan is rejected everyone follows his own direction´ are not an accidental copy of this bad scenario.

Everything was written and planned by the British and the Americans since a long time!

The only legal and real solution road to the Cyprus problem is the return to the 1960 Republic of Cyprus.

The US and Britain, however, who put this republic on the shelf with fabricated games, do not even take into consideration the return to the Republic of Cyprus, which is the only and real solution road.

And what a pity it is that the EU too, as part of this ugly game, is contributing to the consolidation of the partition.

It was not in vain that Abdullah Gul said: `If the plan is rejected everybody goes his own way´. (!)

    The directions are specified

South Cyprus, recognized by the whole world, is the EU member Republic of Cyprus

While North Cyprus, reconized by no country and outside the international law, is in the brains of darkness, and in the fabrications of darkness and piracy!

    Direction, `everybody his own way´.

    Let us move
