Cyprus PIO: Consumer Price Index for the month of October, 1996

1. The Department of Statistics and Research announces that the Consumer
Price Index for October, 1996 increased by 1,03 units or 0,88 percent and
reached 117,84 units compared to 116,81 in the previous month. This is
mainly due to increases in the prices of fresh potatoes, certain fresh
fruit and certain clothing and footwear items.
2. The average rate of increase of the Index for the last twelve months
(i.e. November 1995 - October 1996) compared to the preceding twelve months
(i.e. November 1994 - October 1995) was 2,84%.
