division of our country to end as well, says Kasoulides
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides said last Friday that the
Israeli-Palestinian meeting in Cyprus and their dialogue for peace "is also
an inspiration for us to continue our efforts to achieve the reunification
of our country, and the full restoration of fundamental freedoms and basic
human rights to all the citizens of Cyprus. Turkish military occupation
must end, in order for the forcible division of our country to end as
well"
Speaking at the opening ceremony for the meeting between Israelis and
Palestinians under the auspices of the Israel-Palestine Centre for Research
and Information, Mr. Kasoulides noted that "Cyprus has an additional reason
to feel proud, for acting as a host to your meeting. Much has already been
said and written about the geographic location of our country, making it
the centre where three continents converge, the bridge between Europe and
the Middle East, the meeting place of a variety of cultures and civilisations.
