[01] Cyprus and Iran sign health agreement
The Republic of Cyprus and the Islamic Republic of Iran signed an agreement
of cooperation in the fields of health and medicine.
Cyprus Health Minister Frixos Savvides and Iranian Minister of Health Mr
Mohammad Farhadi signed the agreement in Nicosia yesterday.
The agreement provides for cooperation in the field of health and the
exchange of visits and information for the benefit of both countries.
Speaking after the signing of the agreement, Mr Savvides referred to the
sectors of cooperation covered by the agreement, which include the exchange
of statistics and information regarding epidemics, contagious diseases,
training, healing, and treatment methods. The agreement also provides for
bilateral cooperation between the health organisations of the two
countries.
On his part Mr Farhadi said that the signing of the agreement will
contribute further to the promotion of friendly relations between the two
countries and cooperation in the fields of health and medicine.
