Speaking at a press conference, after the signing of the agreements, Cyprus Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communications andWorks and Latvia's Minister of Transport pointed out that the agreements will strengthen trade and cultural relations between the two countries. [02] Cyprus strongly protests to UN for new violations by Turkish military aircraftCyprus' Charge d'Affaires to the United Nations Mr Droushiotis strongly protested to the UN for violations of Cyprus' airspace and of the flight information region of Nicosia by Turkish Air Force military aircraft, recorded on 19, 21 and 22 March.In a letter to the UN Secretary - General dated 24 March, Mr Droushiotis pointed out that these new provocative acts by Turkey demonstrate its blatant disregard of international law, the UN Charter and all the relevant decisions of the UN on the question of Cyprus. Furthermore the violations are not conducive to reducing tension in the region and run counter to the initiative of the Secretary - General. The letter circulated as an official UN document. [03] New co-operation agreement to be promoted between Cyprus and PolandCyprus and Poland have decided to promote a new co-operation agreement on security issues. The decision was taken during a meeting in Poland last week between Cyprus' Minister of Justice and Public Order, Nicos Koshis and the Polish Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration, Janusz Tomaszewski.According to the official statement issued after the meeting the decision was taken due to important changes and developments in the structure of both Cyprus and Poland .
