[01] France-Greece support Cyprus solution on the basis of UN resolutions and the EU acquis

Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias and his French counterpart Jean Marc Ayrault discussed in detail the Cyprus issue during their meeting in Athens on Tuesday.

Speaking to the press, Kotzias stressed that France understands the need for Cyprus to be a really sovereign and independent member state of EU. As he said, he explained to Ayrault that Greece believes that the guarantees' system has to be abolished and that the occupying troops have to withdraw.
