[01] CoE Chairmanship agenda contributes positively to Cyprus reconciliation, says Jagland

The upcoming Cypriot Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers comes at a crucial time for Europe and for Cyprus, said the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland, while underlining the Chairmanship agenda`s positive contribution to the ongoing reconciliation process on the island.

Jagland, who is on an official one-day visit in Cyprus, had Friday a series of meetings with the President of Cyprus and the President of the House of Representatives, as well as with the Minister of Education. He was later received by Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides and discussed during a working lunch the state of preparations of the six-month Chairmanship.
