Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that in a future solution to the Cyprus problem no guarantees can be accepted, according to AKEL Secretary General Andros Kyprianou.

Lavrov, Kyprianou says, has also made it clear that there cannot be any timetables or arbitration in the UN-led peace talks for a Cyprus settlement and the solution must be the result of the free will of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots.

The Russian FM met on Tuesday with Kyprianou, who is currently paying a visit to Moscow.
