Victoria Nuland, the Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the US State Department, is expected to pay a visit to Cyprus in mid-October.

As CNA learns from a well-informed source in Washington, the date most likely for Nuland to visit is October the 14th. According to the same sources, the aim of the visit is to express support on behalf of the US administration to the intensive settlement talks that are taking place between President of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci.
