[01] Minister introduces schemes for energy production by PV systems
Minister of Energy, Commerce Industry and Tourism Giorgos Lakkotrypis
introduced on Thursday schemes and "Net Metering" Programs for energy
production with the use of photovoltaic (PV) systems.
Speaking at a press conference in the presence of the President of the
Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA), Lakkotrypis referred to the
"enormous importance of the electricity cost for businesses, individual
consumers or the economy in general."
Minister stressed that that the use of photovoltaics for commercial
and industrial consumers and public buildings and the installation of
photovoltaic systems on rooftops of households based on the net-metering
scheme are among the measures announced by the President of the Republic
aiming at restarting the economy.
