[01] CAP agreement with favourable decisions affecting Cyprus
The Agriculture and Fisheries Council of EU Ministers reached in the
early hours of Wednesday a political agreement concerning CAP reform,
on the basis of a European Commission proposal.
The Cyprus delegation, headed by Agriculture Minister Nicos Kouyialis,
managed to have important parameters satisfied, amid tough negotiations.
These include Cyprus' request to increase co-financing during the new
period, on the basis of a flexible formula, that allows for access to
increased EU funding in the first years of the 2014-2020 period.
