[01] Agriculture Minister holds meetings with EU officials on CAP reform
Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Nicos Kouyialis
has had bilateral meetings with the European Commission and the EU Irish
Presidency in view of the negotiations at the EU Agriculture and Fisheries
Council concerning the Common Agricultural Policy.
Kouyialis had meetings with the Irish Minister for Agriculture, Food
and the Marine, Simon Coveney, TD, who will chair the final meeting
of EU Agriculture Ministers under the Irish Presidency, in Luxembourg
on Monday and Tuesday, as well as with EU Commissioner responsible for
agriculture and rural development Dacian Ciolos.
He has already sent a letter to his EU counterparts, and to the Chairman
of the European Parliament Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development
Paolo De Castro in which he explains the positions and concerns of Cyprus
concerning the CAP reform.
