[01] Defence Minister to hold official visit to Paris
Minister of Defence Photis Photiou will be flying to Paris on Wednesday
for an official visit, during which he will meet with his French
counterpart Jean Yve Le-Drian to discuss issues of general interest and
bilateral relations.
During their meeting on Thursday they will also discuss ways to enhance
cooperation between their two Ministries in security and defence issues.
Other issues on their agenda will be developments in the Southeastern
Mediterranean with emphasis on Syria, energy issues and the exploitation
of hydrocarbon deposits in Cyprus` exclusive economic zone, energy
security, Turkish threats and provocations, and the Cyprus problem.
