[01] Financial stability will spur economic growth and job creation,
says CB Governor
Central Bank Governor Panicos Demetriades has said that restoring
financial stability in Cyprus will in turn help to spur economic growth
and job creation.
Addressing the 3rd Nicosia Economic Congress organised by the Institute of
Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus in cooperation with Gold magazine,
Demetriades, whose speech was delivered on his behalf by head of the
Internal Audit Department Yiangos Demetriou, said that "looking forward,
Cyprus is confronted with an extremely challenging road ahead".
However, he added "after a long period of uncertainty, there is now at
last a paved path towards financial stability and economic recovery".
