  • [01] FM to attend EU Generals Affairs Council in Brussels

    Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ioannis Kasoulides, departs Monday for Brussels to participate in the EU General Affairs Council (GAC), on Tuesday.

    During the GAC, Ministers will discuss the Multiannual Financial Framework and prepare the upcoming Summit of the May European Council.

    Kasoulides will remain in Brussels to accompany the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, at his meetings with President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, and President of the European Parliament, Martin Schulz.

    [02] Defence Minister to visit Moscow

    Defence Minister Photos Photiou will meet with Russian government and Duma officials, during his visit to the Russian capital, to discuss issues of mutual concern and bilateral relations..

    According to an official announcement, Photiou departs for Moscow this Wednesday, to meet with his counterpart Sergei Shoigu. The two Ministers are expected to discuss security and defence matters, developments in the Middle East, and bilateral relations.

    The Cypriot Minister will also meet with the Head of the State Duma's Defence Committee Vladimir Komoedov.
