[01] EU Agriculture Ministers discuss CAP reformEU Agriculture Ministers discussed Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) reform during a two day meeting which ended in the early hours of Wednesday morning.Addressing the Council, which mainly discussed developments on the negotiations between the European Parliament and the Council on the CAP, Cyprus Agriculture Minister Nicos Kouyialis underscored Cyprus' preference for the existence of a mandatory list of exemption criteria as regards non-active producers, such as airports and other companies, which own land but are not active in agriculture. Kouyialis further expressed Cyprus' support towards young farmers noting at the same time the need for flexibility so that each member state can choose how to support them. [02] Tourist bookings between March-May record a decrease of 20%Tourist bookings between the period of March 15th until today, record a decrease of 20%, however there is a growing trend, ACTA Chairman Victor Mantovani has said.He pointed out that as of June, where the "last minute bookings" period starts, the tour operators and agents as well as the hoteliers must offer very attractive packages in order to attract tourists, as price is the most decisive factor for visitors to choose Cyprus as their holiday destination. Speaking during a press conference Wednesday, Mantovani said that before March 15th and the first Eurogroup decision on Cyprus' rescue package, the bookings had recorded an increase of 10%.
