[01] FM satisfied with meetings in Washington
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides has described his contacts
in Washington as very useful and stressed the need for the return of the
Turkish occupied town of Famagusta to its lawful inhabitants, calling it a
"test of Turkey's real intentions in Cyprus".
Kasoulides, who met with National Security Advisor to Joe Biden,
Jake Sullivan, the leadership of the American-Israeli Lobby, the
leadership of the Hellenic Caucus, the House Foreign Affairs Committee,
the Senate Foreign Relations Committee as well as with Israeli Ambassador
in Washington, will meet Friday with his counterpart, US Secretary of
State, John Kerry.
Regarding his meeting with Jo Biden's advisor, Jake Sullivan, the Cypriot
Foreign Minister said he referred to the importance of the return of
the Turkish occupied area of Famagusta to its lawful inhabitants, as a
confidence building measure and as a test of Turkey's real intentions
in Cyprus.During his meetings, the Cypriot FM talked about cooperation
between Israel and Cyprus and Cyprus - Egypt - Lebanon.
