[01] House to host conference of EU Parliaments` Speakers
The House of Representatives will host the Conference of Speakers of
EU Parliaments, from April 21 to 23, at the "Filoxenia" Conference
Centre, in Nicosia, in the context of its obligations arising from the
parliamentary dimension of the recently concluded Cyprus Presidency of
the Council of the European Union (EU).
According to a press release issued by the House, the Conference aims to
an exchange of views and experiences on current issues of common interest
among national parliaments of the Union and the European Parliament.
The Conference proceedings, to be chaired by the President of the House
of Representatives Yiannakis Omirou, are divided into three thematic
sessions, reflecting the main challenges currently facing the Union,
as well as the priorities set by the Cyprus Presidency.
