[01] Cyprus and France to conduct aeronautical search and rescue exercise
Cyprus and France will carry out an aeronautical search and rescue
operation on Thursday, in the sea area south of Larnaca.
An official statement from the Defence Ministry said that Cypriot and
French aeronautical forces will take part in the exercise with the
participation of the French navy frigate Jean Bart D-615, which will
carry a Panther helicopter.
On the part of the Republic of Cyprus, two Augusta Westland (AW -139)
helicopters of the National Guard and the Police as well as a Navy
vessel and a patrol boat will take part, including the medical unit of
the Larnaca Civil Defence rescue team.
