    Forty polling stations will operate abroad during the upcoming presidential elections, scheduled for February 17.

    According to the Office of the Chief Returning Officer, there will five polling stations in Athens, three in Thessaloniki, as well as polling stations in Volos, Heraklion, Ioannina, Komotini, Larissa, Patra, Rethymno and Rhodes.

    Five polling stations will operate in London at the High Commission building and two at the Cypriot Community Centre. In other parts of the UK there will be a polling station in Leeds, two in Manchester, two in Birmingham and one in Bristol. Polling stations will also operate in Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, Brussels, Manama (Bahrain), New York, Doha, Paris, Prague, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and Sofia.

    [02] Cyprus Airways begins consultations with unions on rescue plan

    A solution to the problems and an agreement on the rescue plan aimed at securing the future of Cyprus Airways will be sought in the next one week to ten days between the company's administration and the trade unions. The two sides, who had here today their first meeting, will engage in intensive talks, on the basis of a reconstruction plan drafted by Air France and KLM.

    Stavros Stavrou, Chairman of the Board of Cyprus Airways told the press after the meeting that the cooperation with all trade unions is excellent and there is consensus in order to reach the desirable outcome.

    The restructuring plan will provide the basis fro all actions, he added and expressed his optimism that all deadlines will be met. Moreover, he said that all issues concerning the employees will be completed by the end of January, in order to proceed with the next restructuring phase.
