    The RICS Cyprus Property Price Index recorded significant reductions nationwide, figures released on Tuesday, showed.

    During the third quarter of 2013, the Property Price Index records significant reductions nationwide in all major urban areas, with sales prices and rents dropping, said the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Cyprus.

    Across Cyprus prices for houses and flats presented a quarterly decrease of 1.0% and 2.7% respectively. The largest decrease was recorded in Limassol (3.0% for houses) and Larnaca (5.2% for apartments).

    [02] Cypriot MPs address meetings during the 6th APA Conference

    The greatest challenge which the governments, the parliaments and the society are invited to face in Asia is to join powers to seek for approaches that combat the unequal distribution of wealth, Cypriot MP Stella Demetriou Misiaouli said addressing the 6th Conference of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), that began on Monday in Islamabad.

    Misiaouli said that such approaches must provide the needed tools to achieve a targeted cooperation, especially in the fields of the economy, energy and the environment.

    Cypriot MP Kyriakos Hadjiyiannis also attends the Conference.

    [03] Cyprus authorities ready to deal with cold weather

    Local services are bracing themselves to deal with possible repercussions from extreme weather conditions, expected to hit the island this evening.

    Temperatures are set to drop. Strong winds, thunderstorms and snowfall are also on the cards.

    Municipal authorities are closely monitoring weather developments, preparing places to accommodate people who do not have heating at home.
