[01] Omirou: The Cyprus problem is a matter of invasion and occupation

The people will not succumb to the economic crisis and accept an
unfair settlement to the Cyprus problem, pledged Monday House President
Yiannakis Omirou.
In a speech at the special session of the 56-seat House of Representatives
to denounce the coup and the Turkish invasion and honour those who
sacrificed their lives for democracy and for their country, Omirou called
on those who are interested in the security and stability of the region
to urge Turkey to comply with international legal order.
He said that the EU should make it clear to Turkey that the continuation
of its unlawful attitude will only result with an end to its European
accession course.
