[01] Foreign investment pivotal for growth, says Minister
The Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency, within the current challenging
economic conditions, has to undertake a continuous, consistent and
persistent campaign to promote Cyprus, Commerce, Industry and Tourism
Minister Neoclis Sylikiotis said in his address at CIPA Annual General
Assembly.
The Agency, he said, is required to continue action tirelessly advocating
reform and improvement of the business environment, as well as supporting
existing foreign investors. He explained that as part of government
policy to promote strategic investments, the Cabinet decided on 27
July to establish a rapid mechanism for Licensing / Implementing of
Strategic Investment, tasked with expediting procedures in coordination
with relevant public authorities.
[02] Cyprus inflation in October 2012 declined per percentage point
reaching 2.6%.
According to figures released by Eurostat, Cyprus' annual harmonized
inflation in October declined to 2.6% compared with 3.6% in September
and 4.5% in August.
