According to an official press release issued here Saturday, Marcoullis referred to the special symbolism of the event, which is taking place in the country where the Arab Spring began.

The solution to the crisis in Syria, she noted, can only be a political and not a military one, warning that any military intervention would bring incalculable consequences not only to the country itself but to the whole region, which continues experiencing a very turbulent period.

The Arab League is doing important work in addressing the Syrian crisis and it should maintain its leading role in resolving the situation, she added.

[02] Justice Minister to travel in Hague and Luxembourg

Louca will depart for Hague next Monday and according to an official announcement issued here Saturday. In the framework of the event he will participate in the Informal Meeting of Ministers for Justice and Home Affairs (JHA), called by Danish EU Presidency to discuss the strengthening of the role of Eurojust in judicial cooperation and the coordination between the judicial authorities of the Member States.

Following, Minister of Justice will travel to Luxembourg, to accompany the President of Cyprus Republic in his visit to the European Court on March 1st, 2012.
