[01] PRESIDENT EUROZONE SUMMITPresident of the Republic of Cyprus Demetris Christofias said he was satisfied with the decisions taken by the Eurozone leaders, who agreed Thursday on a rescue package for debt-stricken Greece.``It was a very important Summit, during which significant decisions were taken regarding Greece`s financial aid package and the eurozone as a whole``, President Christofias noted in statements after the Summit. He added that everyone acknowledged the difficulties and the need to take measures that would restore the confidence of investors. President Christofias further described the decision to improve terms on Greece`s bailout loan as a positive development, saying that the new terms would help Greece stabilize its public debt and prevent further degradation of the Greek economy. Moreover, he said that options will be offered to private sector creditors taking part in Greece`s rescue plan. The eurozone leaders on Thursday pledged to conduct a second bailout of Greece with an extra 109 billion euros of government money, plus a contribution by private sector bondholders estimated to total as much as 50 billion euros by mid-2014. [02] RUSSIA CYPRUS PROBLEMOnly the unwavering compliance of all countries with the UN Security Council resolutions can allow the reunification of Cyprus, Spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexandr Lukasevic has said.Commenting on remarks by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Lukasevic said ``the Russian Federation is in favour of the strict compliance by all members without exception of the UN Security Council resolutions for any international or regional problems, including the Cyprus issue.`` ``We are convinced that only this approach will allow the reunification of Cyprus on the basis of a bicommunal bizonal federation, with a single sovereignty, citizenship and international legal status,`` he said, adding that ``at the same time the Russian side is ready to support any other decision acceptable by the two sides.`` He pointed out that ``Russia, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, provide and will consider to provide support for a just, viable and comprehensive settlement in the benefit of all Cypriots, based on relevant UN Security Council resolutions, high level agreements in Cyprus, and the voluntary, without outside pressure, consensus of the Cypriot communities``. Lukasevic noted that ``the `sensitive material` of the bicommunal talks`` in Cyprus should not be exposed to outside pressure, ``especially under the current circumstances, when the negotiating process is going moving with difficulty,`` adding that ``for the first time in many years the fate of the Cypriot settlement is in the hands of the Cypriots, Greeks and Turks.`` ``The key is to help them and not try to substitute the common interests of the Cypriots with the interests of other sides,`` he said.
